The requirements
repository contains requirement categories as well as functional and
non-functional requirements related to software.
The repository
contains requirements that are relevant for a broad array of software
categories, such as Identity Management, Business Process Management
(BPM), Business Rule Management (BRM) and Enterprise Content
Management (ECM).
Basically, a
requirement category represents an entity type. Requirement
categories are hierarchically organized. For example, there is a
category named "Interface", which is subdivided into
categories "Application Programming Interface" and "User
Interface". There can be multiple hierarchy levels. Requirements
form the leaf nodes.
The Requirements Repository is frequently updated
and enhanced in order to accommodate technological advances.
Currently, the repository
contains more than 800 requirement categories and more than 1500
ready-to-use functional requirements related to business
infrastructure, IT infrastructure, management & administration,
and standards. More specifically, the repository contains
requirements that are relevant in virtually every application area. In
addition, the repository contains approx. 100 ready-to-use
non-functional (i.e. Quality-related) requirements.
Some of the prominent
top-level requirement categories are:
-
Architecture
-
Framework
-
Interface
-
Pattern
-
Protocol
The Web-based
Requirements
Package Browser provides you with a view of the Package tree. A
Requirements Package is organized as a hierarchical tree with
Requirement Categories and Requirements representing nodes.
Please note that
the key goal of the Web-based browser is to provide you an insight
into the Requirements Repository. You can explore the requirement
category hierarchy and thus view the repository structure.
The Repository
Browser that is part of the Evaluator's Application Suite (EAS)
provides additional functionality, such as search capability. You can
import Requirements into Evaluation Specifications via drag &
drop.
