The Pricing Model Explained PDF Print E-mail
The Evaluator's Application Suite is neither open-source software nor is it free software in general terms. However, depending on your needs, you may end up having to pay nothing for the software. Here is how the pricing model is designed.

There are basically three groups of users:

  • Group 1: Users who download Evaluation Specifications from the repository for customization;
  • Group 2: Users who intend to author Evaluation Specifications from scratch for organization-internal use;
  • Group 3: Users who intend to assume the role of a Content Provider. A Content Provider can create Evaluation Specifications and optionally make available Evaluation Specifications for public download.

Group 1 users will only need to pay for Evaluation Specifications that are actually downloaded. There is a license fee for each downloadable Evaluation Specification. Content Providers are free to set the license fee at their discretion, which is why the license fee varies.

Users in the second group need to download the Content Provider Edition for a license fee.

Group 3 users will also need the Content Provider Edition. However, the Content Provider will be reimbursed  once revenue has been generated from license sales.

Thus, only users in group 2 pay for using the software. It is virtually free software for all other users.
