Request For Proposal Response PDF Print E-mail

A Request For Proposal Response (RFP Response, for short) is a statement, which specifies to what extent requirements are fulfilled by a product, service or methodology.

An RFP Response is associated with a Public RFP (which contains an Evaluation Specification), and each requirement in the Evaluation Specification is associated with a Requirement Fulfillment Statement (1-to-1 association).

There are two flavors of an RFP Response: The self-provided RFP Response and the offeror-provided RFP Response. There is no difference in terms of document structure. It is just that there exist different editions of the RFP Response Editor. There is the RFP Response Editor (RFPREdit), which allows you to prepare RFP Responses yourself, and there is an RFPREdit edition intended to be used by offerors (RFPREdit-OE).

A self-prepared RFP Response may also be termed a Product Evaluation Profile, Service Evaluation Profile, or Methodology Evaluation Profile. You would normally self-prepare an RFP Response in the following situations:

  • A potential offeror is not willing or unable to prepare an RFP Response;
  • You wish to perform an internal evaluation without any third-party involvement.
