When you actively use EAS applications, numerous files will be created. Therefore, before you actually start, it is a good idea to think about a directory structure that lets you easily find Evaluation Specification files, RFP files, etc.
There are basically two ways how you can organize your directories:
- Process-oriented directory structure,
- Document type-oriented directory structure.
It is highly recommended that you think about your directory structure before you create your first EAS document.
Process-oriented Directory Structure
This approach is recommended when you want to have all files belonging to a certain acquisition process under one directory node. Your directory structure might look like this:
<abc Acquisition>
<Evaluation Specification>
<RFP>
<RFP Responses>
<Evaluation Spreadsheet>
abc might be the name of a product.
Document Type-oriented Directory Structure
You would favor this kind of directory structure if your focus is on process activities, since, for example, you are a business analyst who authors Evaluation Specifications and generates RFPs. Your directory structure might look like this:
<Evaluation Specifications>
<RFPs>
Recommendations would be similar for users who author RFP Responses or perform product comparisons.
