Jenz & Partner has released the Business Process Modeling Tools Evaluation Specification.
Business Process Modeling (BPM) is the activity of representing
both the current ("as is") and future ("to be") processes of an
enterprise, so that the current process may be analyzed and improved.
The Business Process Modeling Tools Evaluation Specification covers the following functional areas:
- Organization analysis and modeling,
- Business process modeling,
- Process simulation.
The Evaluation Specification contains more than 260 functional requirements. It provides a jump-start for business managers and business analysts, who are involved in the selection of a Business Process Modeling Tool (BPM Tool) or in the assessment of how the currently used tool compares to the competition.
The BPM Tool Evaluation Specification makes the first entry in the central Evaluation Specification Repository. Users of the Evaluator's Application Suite (EAS) can view the structure of the BPM Tool Software Evaluation Specification in the Evaluation Specification Editor.
The BPM Tool Evaluation Specification description also contains a list of the major subject areas that are covered by the Evaluation Specification.
