A One-Page Rationale PDF Print E-mail

Modern enterprise engineering must be knowledge-driven to meet the agility requirements imposed by ever increasing competition. Taken together, knowledge-driven enterprise engineering (KDEE) rests on three premises:

  1. KDEE is based on the composition paradigm. Compositions are building blocks in the form of models, which can be combined and associated in a Lego-like fashion;

  2. Models are executable, which eliminates the need for coding in a programming language. As a side-effect, no model transformations are necessary;

  3. Knowledge-driven enterprise engineering can be performed by domain experts in the role of business analysts. Participation of IT experts is not required in the process.
