Reasons for Considering a DEMS PDF Print E-mail

There are many reasons for considering the acquisition of a DEMS. To put things into perspective, we distinguish between tactical and strategic goals.

Tactical goals are generally short-term goals to be achieved within a year or less. Such goals include:

  • Providing effective support for unstructured ad hoc processes (Adaptive Case Management)
  • Realizing custom solutions in highly dynamic environments where an organization can realize particular competitive advantages, such as in innovation management, strategy management,  customer onboarding, or customer complaint management
  • Implementing auxiliary solutions that are needed temporarily or permanently, and that are typically performed using popular desktop database applications, such as MS Access.

Strategic goals are typically mid-term and long-term goals. Such goals include:

  • Improving business-IT integration
  • Software and information unification
  • Implementation of a unified Business Process Management (BPM) solution
  • Realization of real-time change management
  • Implementation of an executable business architecture.
