The Evaluator's Application Suite (EAS) is based on a
service-oriented architecture (SOA). This allows for making available
some of the application suite's functionality to other applications
outside the scope of the EAS.
More specifically, other applications are now able to access the
Requirements Repository via the Repository Access Web Service. The
service exposes a message-based interface which defines and
implements a contract between the consumers of the service and the
provider of the service. The service
interface is network addressable.
Usage scenarios for the Repository Access Web Service are:
-
Integration with requirements management software in order to
facilitate quick and easy import of ready-to-use requirements into
software requirement specifications
-
Integration with a portal
-
Integration with a custom front-end application
Benefits for end-user organizations:
-
Decreased costs: Authoring
requirements is time-consuming and cost-intensive. Importing
requirements from the repository results in substantial time and
cost savings.
-
Improved operational efficiency:
The time needed to create a high-quality requirements specification
can be reduced from weeks to days. The result is faster
time-to-market.
The Requirements Package Browser provides you with a content view of the Requirements Repository. You will be presented a tree view with Requirement Categories and Requirements representing nodes. Please note that only functional requirements are displayed.
For further information about how to programatically access the Web Service, please consult the online guide.
If you are interested in making use of the Repository Access Web
Service please send an e-mail to "repo.api (AT)
jenzundpartner.de" so that further details
can be discussed.
